Look, they’re my principles …

We talked with a group about the difference between ‘Espoused values’ and ‘Values in Action’ and one of the participants recalled a great Groucho Marx quote which goes: “Look, they’re my principles … and if you don’t like them ... I’ve got others”! Groucho always makes me laugh, and true to form he gives a great tongue-in-cheek reminder that values are worthless if you don’t demonstrate them consistently. The phrase we use is: “Don’t laminate your Values, LIVE them!”
