The Millenial Bug

We recently saw a new play, ‘Beginning’, at the National Theatre. It was a funny, slightly rude and thought provoking evening; one of those that gets you thinking afterwards.

Essentially it was about Millenials – roughly those born after about 1984 – and the challenges they can face with relationships, not least due to the all pervading presence of social media. We find organisations saying much the same to us; ‘we have really well qualified people, but they sometimes struggle with the basic human touches that make the difference’, is the kind of thing we hear.

Organisations that can support their people develop the skills that make connections with one another and their clients have a great opportunity here, but it doesn’t just happen! So consider this: are you doing enough to equip your people to do what you expect them to do on an interpersonal level?
